As our regular customers know and our new ones will swiftly find out, here at Scossa we pride ourselves on sourcing unique contemporary furniture from around the world.  With that in mind, we are very happy to announce that we are now stocking products from Montana, the renowned Danish furniture company.

Based in the central town of Haarby, Montana was founded in 1982 by Peter J Lassen with a commitment to giving customers scope to optimise their own personal space, either at home or in the office.  Using only the best designers, including Peter and his son Joakim who is now the company's CEO, Montana offers a wide range of products including tables, cabinets, freestanding shelves and wardrobes that can be assembled with minimum hassle.  The Montana emphasis is very much on freedom, allowing the user to deploy the furniture in a way that represents their own personality.

Notwithstanding the inevitable changes in fashion, Montana products are designed with four key objectives in mind: practicality, durability, style and timelessness.  Moreover, they reflect one of the company's key statements: "36 modules, 4 depths, 42 colours and endless possibilities."

The Montana Home scheme offers a kaleidoscope of colours from candyfloss, jellybean and minty-green to turquoise, light yellow and purple hues.  It combines fun and playfulness with a classical style, evoking the 1950s but simultaneously showcasing modernity.

As with Montana Home, the company's Office offering seeks to challenge space utilisation in a way that reflects the user's identity, culture and vision.  Lending itself to both professionalism and quirkiness, the furniture can be installed in open-plan offices, meeting rooms, breakout areas and canteens.  Once again, there is a range of colours and subdued hues mingle with brighter, more relaxing shades.

We are particularly excited about the Montana Free shelving system, which the company describes as 'a new kind of furniture for a new way of living'.  Suitable for use in living rooms, bedrooms and offices, it consists of no less than 12 standard compositions that range in both size and function.  The smallest design is a two-shelf high bench that can fit under a window; in contrast, the largest model – a six-shelf high unit – can either be positioned against a wall or used as a spacious room divider.

Having admired Montana's quality and diversity for many years, we are delighted that we are now able to offer their innovative products.  Just as we place huge importance on our relationship with our customers, we understand the need to have the best possible rapport with suppliers.  Our relationship with Montana may be in its infancy, but it has blossomed since we visited their stand at the Milan Furniture Fair earlier this year; we also met with Montana at last month's London Design Festival.  Indeed, it was for that festival that Montana – along with another Danish furniture company, Skagerak – transformed a concept store in the capital into an Eco Townhouse, only furnishing it with items from sustainably sourced materials and produced with ethical manufacturing techniques.  As a business committed to sustainability and ethical production practices, Scossa only deals with suppliers with a similar ethos.

We have no doubt that the Montana range will prove popular with our customers.
