Thought by Achille Castiglioni and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni in 1958, the lamp Taccia has been designed and realised in form of a prototype in 1959. After a few years the manufacturer company Flos set up a mass production scheme which will bring the article into production in 1962.

The lamp has a base in anodised extruded aluminium (which also comes in black polish) underneath a deep glass bell which has a concave aluminium disk on top.

An incandescent light is hidden inside the metal base which is shaped to form some prominent ends to facilitate the diffusion of the heath coming from the light. The transparent glass bell sited freely on the base can be oriented to direct the light in many ways.

Achille Castiglioni during an interview about Taccia in 1970 said: "we regard it as the Mercedes of the lamps, a symbol of success: maybe because it looks like a classic column. Of course, we weren't concerned about prestige when we designed it. We intended to obtain a surface which would remain chilly."

As many other products designed by Achille Castiglioni Taccia is an extraordinary piece which does not conform to any temporary fashion.

The transparent glass bell sited freely on the base can be oriented to direct the light in many ways.

The Flos Taccia light is truly a cornerstone for Flos and should be apart of any design savvy lighting collection.

*We use Parcelforce, Couriers which deliver goods secured to a pallet, you will be responsible for disposing of the pallet and our Company Vehicle to operate our free local delivery that includes Lancashire, Cumbria, Manchester, Liverpool and Merseyside and for orders within UK Mainland which fall under £1000.00

• 30 Minute call on the day prior to delivery

**Assembly excludes wardrobes, system and wall mounted furniture and light fittings, please contact us for a quote and availability. For orders outside of these areas which are over £1000.00 we offer a home delivery and assembly service for a small £95.00 fee, this is usually because the items are heavier and bulkier and require specialist care so we appoint a home delivery team.

Clearance Items:

Clearance items are available for immediate delivery to be arranged with you. Depending on the item and the area you live they may require even more special handling, as the original packaging has been discarded, please contact us for a quote.
